Where We Sing is a quiet portrait of a community on England’s south coast. In and around Brighton and Hove, a diverse group gathers in pubs, on the beach, in fields, and even inside a historic windmill to sing shanties, working songs, traditional folk music, and original compositions. Open to all – regardless of background or vocal ability – they create a space where anyone can raise their voice and belong.

Photographed over 18 months in 2024–2025, this black-and-white monograph captures both the people and the landscapes that shape their music. Intimate, atmospheric, and grounded in place, Where We Sing is a testament to community, tradition, and the simple joy of communal singing.
